The Republika ng Barya is a conglomeration of 270 cooperatives nationwide, one of which is the highly successful Shema Familia Multi-Purpose Cooperative that has 120,000 members. At present, the RBI has ventured into the following livelihood projects:
- Butanding Express Transport Cooperative Service
The Butanding Express Transport Cooperative Service has a fleet of ten (10) Hyundai Starex vans, five (5) brand new Toyota Innovas and five (5) Haima FStar vans. The vans are slated to ply the Clark Freeport Zone to any point of Region III and beyond as the Clark International Airport gets bigger.
The transport service will also service leading hotels inside the Clark Freeport Zone such as Holiday Inn Clark, Fontana Leisure, Widus Hotel, Hotel Stotsenberg at Oxford Hotel. The transport service supports the thrusts of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) and the Department of Tourism (DOT) to provide a seamless transport system for the Filipinos and foreign tourists. Butanding Transport Service will support the DOT slogan: “It’s More Fun in the Philippines.”
- BF Life Insurance
The Republika ng Barya is connected with BF Life Insurance that seeks to provide “Peace of Mind” for the increasing number of senior citizens most of whom do not have an access to quality health service. For a minimum annual premium, RBI provides life insurance policy for the senior citizens.
- Development of Indigenous People
At present, the RBI is setting up a cooperative for the Aeta community in Sitio Monicayo, Barangay Calumpang, Mabalacat, Pampanga. The Aetas will be given livelihood program so that they can be part of the development in their community as they improve their respective lives.
- RBI Meat Processing Plant
The RBI Meat Processing Plant is currently in the pipeline in a bid to provide meat products for members of Shema Familia Multi-Purpose Coop. Pampanga is home to most popular meat processors in the country today, it is here where the famous Pampanga ‘tocino’ is concocted. The Meat Processing Plant will allow the RBI to supply meat products to the coop members at reasonable price. Furthermore, members will be given a freezer with RBI meat products for the consumption of coop members.
